Meditation + Movement for Mental Health at Trinity Wellness
90 min Meditation + Movement for Mental Health class is created out of the ongoing awareness and concern about the increase in emotional distress and conflicts in our community, country, and world. Whether you're looking to improve flexibility, relieve stress, or simply decompress, this class is perfect for all. Guys + Gals - all levels welcome including beginners.
You will be led through a synergistic blend of meditation and movement practices drawn from a variety of mind/body traditions: yoga styles, qigong, mobility stretches, soothing self-touch/massage, breathwork, brain balancing exercises. Modifications will be offered to accommodate all levels of practice with the use of a variety of props to create comfort, prevent injuries and suit individual needs.
Class will incorporate opening/closing meditation, mindful breathwork, and gentle movement. This will allow you to awaken your strength, energy, flexibility, and relieve muscle tension, while learning skills of mindful awareness to be present with and manage all the "weather systems" of the mind and emotions. Useful strategies to manage emotional/physical symptoms resulting from everyday stressors all the way up to major life challenges (such as coping with change, grief and loss, dealing with conflict, just to name a few) will be offered as well, with a different theme each month.
Instructor: Jamie Mason is a master's level Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice and certified Yoga and meditation teacher.
Please wear comfortable stretchy clothes and bring a yoga mat, any props needed, towel and water (available @ TW). Hydration advised!
